A "lal" is a Nepalese unit of measurement and is our starting point for the Lal Project. The size of the silver brooch is determined by the number of lal that are used, while its distinctive shape derives from the manner in which it is rolled.
You are free to compose your own brooch design by combining any number of Lals.
